...Transnistria - 1 and 5 Rubles 2017 Great October Socialist Revolution 100th Year Anniversary

Transnistria is officially known as the Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic. However they are also sometimes referred to (spelling) as Transdniestr, Trans-Dniestr, Transdniestria or Pridnestrovie.

A set of two Commemorative notes released by the Transnistrian Republic Bank on 03.11.2017 to celebrate the 100th year of the Great October Socialist Revolution (1917 to 2017). The Russian Revolution started on 08.03.1917 and ended on 07.11.1917. The Revolution marked the end of the Romanov dynasty. Needless to say, Transnistria is pro Russia even though they do not share a common border with Russia. The nearest distance between Transnistria and Russia is about 800+ kilometers (excluding Crimea). The denominations for the 2 notes are the 1 and 5 Rubles. A total of 5,000 sets were issued with 2017 sets sold in a folder. The designs for both notes are from the 2007 series but with the addition of the USSR Order of the Revolution added to the design of the notes. With such a small issue, it was not intended for general circulation.

Transnistria is a disputed territory with the Moldova government and is not recognised by any of the United Nations member states. It's currency has no value outside it's territory. Like all previous issues, there are no signatures on the notes.
