...Transdniestria - 1 Ruble Commemorative 75th Year of Yasi-Chisinau Operation 1944-2019

Република Молдовеняскэ Нистрянэ
Приднестровская Молдавская Республика
Pridnestrovian Moldavian Republic

Transnistrian Republican Bank
Currency : Ruble (RUP)

This is another 1 ruble note with commemorative overprint, commemorating the 75th year of the Yasi-Chisinau (Jassey-Kishinev) operation. This operation was related to a Soviet offensive against the Axis forces, which took place in Eastern Romania from 20 to 29 August 1944 World War ll. This offensive resulted in the encirclement and destruction of the German forces which later forced Romania to switch allegiance from the Axis powers to the Allies.

This note was issued on 20/08/2019, limited to 1,500 sets.

Dated 2019, General Alexander Vassilyevich Suvorav

Transnistria has issued a fair bit of overprint commemorative notes since 2019. Most of these issues were mainly overprint on the 1 ruble, but other denominations like the 5, 10 and 25 rubles were also issued. Recently I bought two of such overprints and realised that these were not official issues. The notes are genuine notes but not the commemorative over prints. Obviously I was disappointed that why would anyone do such a thing just for a profit? These two notes that I bought were quite expensive too. I did post these two notes on my sites earlier and I have taken them down when I found out that they are not official issues. As a rule of thumb, these Transnistria issues, especially for those folder one, should have a very low serial number, unless the issue is also meant for general circulation too.
