This 200 leke formed part of the new series with the first two notes of 200 and 5000 leke issued on 30.09.2019. Both notes are printed with the year date of 2017. As part of the new series, the 200 leke is printed on polymer substrate. The is the first time Albania has issued a polymer note. The 200 leke is the lower denomination and the new 10000 leke will be the largest value. The rest of the series, 500, 1000, 2000 and 10000 leke will be released in 2020, 2021 and 2022.
