I always wonder why they never use the latest portrait of the Queen of England when issuing latest design of banknotes! Thanks.

Yes, make us wonder too unlike coins where the sequences of the types of portraits used are quite consistent.

The only notes that they have used a more up to date portrait are banknotes issued by Fiji ($100 Hybrid 2007), Jersey 2010 set and the more recent issues of Cayman Islands. Maybe there are even more!
