Norway - 1000 Kroner New Series 2019

Kongeriket Norge
(Kingdom of Norway)

Norges Bank
(Bank of Norway)
Currency : Kroner (NOK)

This is the final note of the Sea series, 1000 kroner. This series, which is also called Series Vlll, was first introduced in 2017 with the two notes of 100 and 200 kroner. Later the 50 and 500 kroner were added in 2018. This new 1000 kroner is also the highest denomination circulating in the country. The theme for this note is “The sea that carries us forward”. Given the size of the country, Norway have a very small population of about 5.3+ millions. The country is dominated by mountainous and high terrain and as such relies heavily on the sea (and air) for transportation and foods. However the government have been building many bridges linking the country from north to south thus reducing traveling time between towns and cities.

One Thousand Kroner
Dated 2019, A wave in the open sea. The wave suggests the sea as a counter force that hones the Norwegians, and a driving force that carries them forward. The sea looks a bit rough or even angry to me
Reverse - The open sea vaguely appears on the horizon. There is a strong gale and the waves pile up in the organic pattern. Two depictions of a water molecule in both liquid and solid states also appear on the design.
