This 100 Escudos was printed in 1987 celebrating the country's 300th year of Paper Money. The design of this note was first issued in 1985. Since then this note has been reprinted 5 times before this commemorative note is issued. The design of this note is the same as those first issued in 1986, however the note is printed with the prefix of FIL for this special commemorative.
